One of my favorite things to eat in Toronto is sushi - it's cheap and fresh.
Pumpkin porridge
My favorite dish at a dinner banquet is the meat appetizer or "cold dish", which will usually have jelly fish, sliced five-spice beef and pork aspic.
Egg white meringue filled with sweet red bean paste, deep fried and dusted with sugar. Almost like a donut.
The Niagara Falls never lose their majesty - even when seen driving on the road.
These are nothing like the sweet & sour chicken one gets in US restaurants where the prominent "flavors" are starch and food coloring. These are so delicious even my child who normally doesn't like Chinese food loves them and ate the whole plate.
Who knew fried plain buns could taste so good dipped in condensed milk?
So many desserts to choose from, so little room in my tummy... they even have durian desserts, which hubby did not allow me to order :(
As you can see, hubby is a conservative eater.
This is at Casa Loma - a castle built by a rich business man who then fell on hard times and had to sell the castle.
Hidden staircase used by servants so they won't be seen.
Staircase leading to the tower.
View from tower.
Long underground tunnel leads from house to outside stable.
Here's why it's called a castle.
Famouse landmark of downtown Toronto, the CN Tower.
Toronto Chinatown is a few miles long!
Road in Chinatown culminated at University of Toronto, meaning the students are close to some real good eateries!
Apple crumble.
These pastries are filled with a delicious ground pork filling and topped with sweet crust - strange juxtaposition of sweet and savory that works really well.
My child loves egg tarts and we always have to order at least 2 orders of it - and I still don't get to eat even one! I think the tart shell pastry makes all the difference.
